Annual Meetings
We organise two meetings each year, an Annual General Meeting, held in the spring, at which the Chairman presents an overview of the previous year’s activities with a talk by a guest speaker, and an Autumn Get Together also with a guest speaker. The talks are by local naturalists or experts in local heritage.
Oyr AGM's are usually held in April / May and notices are posted throughout the Borough advertising the evening with a notice put on this website and social media. We have a guest speaker every year prior to the formal business is discussed.
Nature Walks
We organise a number of walks on the Common each year which are led by local natural history experts. The subjects that are usually covered each year include birds in early spring, wildflowers, butterflies, invertebrates particularly bush crickets, bats and fungi.
Epsom Common Day
Periodically we hold an ‘Epsom Common Day’ on Stamford Green in the summer months. This includes a large number of stalls with a natural history flavour, demonstrations of woodworking skills, activities for children including a small animal petting stall, guided walks, refreshments, exhibitions and a raffle. The last ‘Epsom Common Day’ was scheduled for July 2018 and was funded by crowdfunding and generous donations from residents and the public but was unfortunately 'rained off', however the event was re-planned for July 2019 and was a resounding success for all involved.
